Arctic Monkeys – Favourite Worst Nightmare

You have the biggest selling UK debut album of all time. You’ve become ‘the band of the people’, a title previously reserved for the likes of Oasis; and the musical world's eyes are focused on what you’ll do next. Half expect you, like so many other young bands, to buckle under the weight of expectation, the other half hope you’ll come back brighter and louder than before. The latter were proved right when Favourite Worst Nightmare emerged the scarier, bigger brother to Whatever People Say I Am… Better riffs, stronger hooks and far heavier than anything they’d produced before, this was a huge “Up yours!” to those that said it couldn’t be done.
