Exclusive: MGMT to play three September dates in Dublin
With a mere ten days to go until the official release of their widely-leaked second album, MGMT have announced details of their biggest UK & Ireland headline tour to date. Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden have often alluded in interviews to not being huge fans of hitting the road, but that’s exactly what they’ll be doing throughout much of September. And even though their official tour schedule only lists one Dublin date thus far – the opening night of the tour no less – Ragged Words happens to know a man who knows a man who knows a man who says there will be three back-to-back nights in The Olympia. So there.
In other MGMT-related news, on Tuesday the band unveiled a pretty nightmarish video for ‘Flash Delirium’, the first track from Congratulations to see the light of day on the interwebs. The video, a bizarre collision of Wes Anderson and Videodrome, is now streaming alongside the new record in its entirety over on the band’s official site. A full album release will follow on April 12th through Columbia.
