Vampire Weekend top US album charts
After being denied top spot in the UK charts by Florence and Paulo fooking Nutini, Billboard reports that Vampire Weekend's album Contra has sold 124,000 copies in its first week across the pond to knock Susan Boyle of top spot in the Billboard 200.
According to Billboard, Contra, which was released by XL, is only the 12th independently distributed title to hit number one since 1991.
