Screw IMRO! Download Laura Sheeran's New EP For Free
Since earning kudos during Nialler9’s recent Irish Week – with Sweet Oblivion’s Aoife Barry likening her to “an episode of Twin Peaks in female form” – experimental songstress Laura Sheeran (one of RW’s top tips for 2010) has made a new EP available for free download via OpenMusic. Aptly titled Music For The Deep Woods, the EP boasts an impressive number of collaborators across five haunting tracks that explore the Galwegian’s constantly shifting sound. Songs such as the bewitching ‘Ag Chuimniú’ – think Grouper at swim with Autamata’s Carol Keogh – bode very well for debut album Lust Of Pig And The Fresh Blood, which is hopefully set to follow some time later this year.
Thankfully free from the stranglehold of IMRO’s ongoing Limited Online Exploitation License fiasco, the EP is downloadable for nada thanks to the Brighton-based site’s Creative Commons License. Click here for more info on the EP, as well as that download link.
