Picnic Basket: Sunday
Pound-for-pound, we reckon the Sunday of this year’s Electric Picnic might just boast the strongest lineup of the weekend. Alongside big names like The Fall, Massive Attack and Fever Ray there are plenty of lesser-known acts who’ll be looking to close out the festival in style. The likes of Dâm-Funk & Master Blaster, Field Music and Bonobo should make for plenty of head-scratching over time-clashes, followed by guaranteed pint-spillage as you jog frantically from one stage to the next, shouting like a loon at your beleaguered mates as you go. But then, that’s what The Picnic is all about, isn’t it? That and shitloads of great music of course.
Some of this great music is featured in our Sunday-themed SoundCloud mix, available to stream or download below. With less than 48 hours to go before the campsites open, you’ve got about enough time to listen to it forty times in a row, so there’ll be no excuse for not knowing who’s playing come Sunday! If this starts getting a bit repetitive after about the twelfth listen, however, you can always check out either of our previous mixes, or else check back tomorrow when we’ll be throwing the spotlight on some of the Irish acts set to play EP ’10, as well as picking some of the highlights from the Body & Soul lineups.
And speaking of lineups, they should be made available at some stage later today, so be sure to check our twitter feed for up-to-the-minute info. Anyone got a spare sleeping bag by the way?...
