Julian Plenti, outed by Matador as the solo project of Interpol frontman Paul Banks, will release the album Julian Plenti is Skyscraper via Intrepol's original label on August 3.

According to Pitchfork, Banks used to perform as Plenti before Interpol existed, and an eagle eye also spotted a Plenti-ful engineering credit on Banks' "NARC" remix on the Antics special edition.

Billboard meanwhile say that while the album was recorded recently, some of the songs were written more than ten years ago. A reasonable un-Interpol snipped can be heard at julianplenti.com
