Owen Pallett added to Fleet Foxes' Cork bill
When we chatted to Dublin impresario Leagues O’Toole (Harmonic, formerly Foggy Notions) at the end of last year, he told us to keep an eye on www.twitter.com/foggynotions for all manner of cryptic clues as to who might be coming to Irish shores soon. It may not have taken our crack team to decipher but when 140 characters consisting of “the wonderful Owen Pallett has been confirmed as special guest to Fleet Foxes live @ the Marquee, Cork on June 26th” were tweeted on Friday night, it kinda made our weekend.
The artist formerly known as Final Fantasy, fresh from playing, in its entirety, Ragged Words’ 28th favourite album of 2011 Heartland with the Britten Sinfonia at London's Barbican last week, last headlined Ireland over two nights in Whelans last year and by all accounts went down a storm on both of ‘em. Tickets for the Cork show are priced €39.50 and are available now. Given Harmonic’s night at the Marquee last year featured four quality acts, expect a couple more decent names to be added soon.
Pallet doesn’t have any other UK or Irish dates confirmed at the moment but Fleet Foxes hit the following venues over the coming weeks:
May 31 @ LONDON - Hammersmith Apollo
June 1 @ LONDON - Hammersmith Apollo
June 2 @ LONDON - Hammersmith Apollo
June 23 @ WOLVERHAMPTON - Civic Hall
June 25 @ BELFAST - Custom House Square
June 26 @ CORK - Live At The Marquee
June 28 @ MANCHESTER - Apollo
June 29 @ EDINBURGH - Corn Exchange
July 1 @ ST AUSTELL - Eden Sessions
