Neil Hannon/Pugwash do cricket concept album

Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon and Pugwash’s Thomas Walsh have teamed up for a concept album about cricket under the guise of The Duckworth Lewis Method. The project’s self-titled debut will be released via 1969 Records on July 3. For those unfamiliar with the game, the D/L method is the calculated means of avoiding a draw in a limited over clash. The cricket-obsession doesn’t end there with titles like ‘The Coin Toss’, ‘The Nightwatchman’, ‘Test Match Special and ‘The Sweet Spot.’ Guests on the album include Cathy Davey and funnymen Phill Jupitus, Alexander Armstrong and Matt Berry.
