More details on Paul Banks solo LP
We reported a couple of weeks ago that Interpol frontman Paul Banks was going solo under the guise of Julian Plenti. Matador, who will release Julian Plenti Is...Skyscraper on August 4, have revealed, according to Pitchfork, that the record will feature contributions from guests including Ratatat's Mike Stroud, Interpol's Sam Fogarino, and Charles Burst of the Occasion. The label say Banks' Julian Plenti character originated in 1996, played some NYC clubs, and then "went on sabbatical" just as Interpol's stock started to rise in 2001.
Plenti since "acquired the music production software Logic Pro" in 2006, allowing for him to make music without a band. Then he started making music without a band. Plenti/Banks will plat "select shows" - one assumes across the Atlantic - in support of the release.
