Pete And The Pirates

One of the very best under the radar records of recent years, Tap Tap’s debut Lanzafame introduced Tom Sanders as one of the UK’s very best under the radar talents. Four years later, before knuckling down to his day job of recording a second album with the brilliant Pete & The Pirates, the Reading man will first release another Tap Tap record and gave us a quick introduction below.

What's it called?

On my Way (sleeve below)

Where, when and with whom was it recorded?

In between two little studios in London over the past year or so. It was engineered by J.P.Buckle who also plays drums on the record

What can we expect?

It's more consistent in terms of it's sound. It's a bit tighter, but still quite loose. Bobby August from Stolen described it as 'One big mood'

Were you listening to anything in particular before or during the process that might have made a mark on the record?

No

Any rough or final tracklising drawn up yet?

Yes, here it is:
1. Autumn & Tea
2. Codine
3. Dirty Sky
4. El Gusano
5. Straight To Hell
6. Half Moon Street
7.Queen Of Hearts
8. Star Crossed idiots
9. Feeelin' Funny
10. Start A War
11. Hey Missy

When's it due out?

Hopefully end of September

When will it leak!?

Probably when some maverick journo puts it online

(Can you sum it up) In three ragged words?

erm.. not really, no.

On My Way is out through the good people at Stolen Records on September 28. Pre order here.
