In The Bag: Adrian Crowley
What's it called? The working title is 'The Wishing Seat' but be warned-that may change!
Where, when and with whom was it recorded? It was recorded between the Summer and Autumn of 2008 at Experimental Audio in Dublin with Stephen Shannon at the controls. Additional recording took place in a few living rooms in London. We also did a day at my sister's house here in Dublin (near Raglan Road) to record the piano based songs. The church bell across the road tolled every fifteen minutes, so we had to time the takes accordingly.Guests and band members for the record include Marja Tuhkanen Gaynor (baroque viola, viola de gamba), Kevin Murphy (cello), Cillian Mac Donnell (drums), Thomas Haugh (aka Hulk) played more drums. Emma Smith and Vince Sipprell (both from Geese and Elysian Quartet) who I tour with a lot, played violin and viola and BJ Cole played pedal steel on a couple of songs and Stephen played bass.
What can we except? You mean expect?! (thanks for picking up the typo sir - ed) It's essentially an AC record but with a variation in instrumentation from 'Long Distance Swimmer'. It's heading towards a new territory in some ways , one song (The Wishing Seat) even has a chorus! Having said that I can't hear any pop songs on it.
When's it due out? April 24th 2009.
When will it leak!? Officially- 4 weeks before.
In A Ragged Word? Crepuscular!
