1. Andrew WK - I Get Wet

Life affirming. If this record doesn't get you going, check your pulse because you might be a prick. 

2. Jamie Lidell - Multiply

The boy got soul. And programming chops. And is an amazing producer. And a funny man. And the Mammy says he's handsome, and I agree with her. Being true to your muse can yield interesting results. 

3. The Mae Shi - Heartbeeps

This was a big record for me and my mates, the message is loud and clear - doesn't matter if it's not perfect, nothing is perfect, just do it and put it out! 

4. Aphex Twin - Chosen Lords

The compilation of Analord stuff that Warp assembled. Dip your toe in the water and if you like that get all eleven Analords. Analogue feast! 

5. Outkast - Speakerboxx/The Love Below

This was a record that had a huge effect on me when it came out. Hey Ya! for gods sake. The power of pop. Even the Mammy liked that one. Good thing she never listened to the rest of it though, it's awful rude in parts. I think I listened to nothing else except this album for about 6 months. Always wanted him to go back and finish off that last tune. 

6. Prefuse 73 - One Word Extinguisher

Killer killer killer. Nothing he's done since comes close for me. This record - like a lot of my choices now I look at them - seems to exist out of time...it sounds old and new all at once. Sometimes music can make you feel like you're listening directly to someones memories, all messy and incorrect and personal... this record is a bit like that. 

7. Kings of Convenience - Riot on an Empty Street

Was a toss up between this,Erlend Oyes solo album, and the Whitest Boy Alive. Basically this guy could sing over some atonal Inuit nose flute jazz freak out and I'd buy it. Perfect night time wine time record. His DJ Kicks is deadly too. 

8. Kanye West - 808s and heartbreak

Interrupty strop man with moany auto tune Miami Vice shutter shades synthy rap masterpiece. He banged this one out. This generation's David Bowie except more of a dick. 

9. Justice - Cross

Big loud French bastards. Immense production. Instant party. 

10. Jape - Ritual

Proof that you can engage the body the brain and the soul all at the same time.
