Shannon Stevens' albums of the decad
What a great ride that album is. It actually makes me feel as if I am flying. This is my favorite band ever, hands down, so they had to end up on this list.
This one hit me recently. The instrumentation, the songs, that VOICE.... This album kills me.
Soundtrack to a couple years of my life. It's a warm, tender tribute to sharing life with another person. My husband and I loved this album especially during the honeymoon phase of our own marriage.
I love their beautiful, sad anthems, and this album is incredibly strong and cohesive.
It accompanied me for much of the decade. It turned my brain inside out, comforted and challenged me. I have every last minute detail memorized.
There's no better album for a dark winter's night after a long day of work in the rain.
My kid loves this, and so do I. We listened to it in the car for probably close to a year. It's a collection of the most insane, quirky, earnest, really short praise songs in the world.
I love Iron & Wine, and this is my favorite of their (or should I say his) work. Love the songs, love the instrumentation, love it.
I put this album on when I need some healing. It's a hot shower and strong coffee for my soul.
I first heard it while pruning some blueberry bushes. Now I always think of those blueberry bushes when I hear it. Her songs and voice are so wacky, but so gorgeous and perfectly appropriate. Even when I don't know what the hell she is singing about, I still feel uplifted.
