In Photos: The Phantom Band + The Minutes + We Are Losers @ Whelans, Dublin (19.01.11)

A strong lineup at Dublin's Whelans last night gave punters an excuse to let their hair down midweek. Unfortunately local newbies We Are Losers had been and gone before most of the crowd arrived, but their scuzzy lo-fi anti-pop still managed to hit the spot. Garage rock trio The Minutes then put on their usual high-energy display - look out for their debut album arriving in May. Headliners The Phantom Band are still riding the crest of a critical wave on the back of October's The Wants LP, and the Glaswegians didn't disappoint with a set that motored and meandered through the various nooks and crannies that make up their somewhat unclassifiable sound.
