Brian Eno loves her, Nick Cave loves her, the BBC judges love her - and everyone squeezed inside Dublin's Workman's Club on Wednesday night now loves her. Anna Calvi's debut Irish show was sold-out even before her show-stealing turn in the latest series of Other Voices. And it was easy to see just why: beguiling stage presence and a bunch of songs that get right under your skin on first listen, the Londoner certainly seems to have the substance to back up the hype. And she's not a bad guitarist either! Squarehead's Roy Duffy supported - the Dublin band's eagerly-anticipated debut album will be with us towards the end of the year.
