Oh man, only ten albums? That's really not fair! Well, I can not really put these in any order of quality/importance...but here are ten albums that I plan on taking with me from this decade into the next and the next and the next, along with some free association.

1. Broadcast - HaHa Sound

Mystical psyche music that perhaps was transmitted from the sleeping minds of pale nuns en route to vortex. 

2. Erykah Badu - New Amerykah Part One (4th World War)

Funky supermother of natural chaos and all things complexly. YES. 

3. The Fiery Furnaces - Blueberry Boat

The David Foster Wallace meets Neal Cassady meets C Span of the freak pop canon. Music to help potted house accountants in comas to grow. 

4. Kanye West - Late Registration

Kanye is the great riddle of this century. Too much talent for one person to bear with dignity, I suppose. 

5. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion

Extremely frog and flickering light mayhem. 

6. Gorillaz - Demon Days

Like an emotional kinder egg experience, though locked in a minty karmic loop. 

7. Madvillain - Madvillainy

I've peered beyond the mask and it is more beautiful than a vacuum. Dr funkenstein would be proud. 

8. M.I.A. - Kala

A new adventure for Joseph Conrad with no kind of animal prizes allowed. 

9. Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below

Great to play chess to, as well as make failure shepherds pie and surprise pudding in early marriage. 

10. Ariel Pink - The Doldrums

It's like grabbing every idea and sound that passes through your head,holding it up to your face and then letting it go, the stream never ends or becomes less fulfilling.
