James Graham's (The Twilight Sad) albums of the decade
I know everyone is going crazy over their new record but I still think this one is my favourite, it was the record that got me into them aswell. It's a pretty good sunday morning album too.
I listened to this record alot when we were writing our first album. its pretty bleak and dynamic at the same time. I would probably say this is one of my favourite albums of all time and not just the decade.
To this day Mogwai are still one of my favourite bands and people. This album clicked with me right away and "Hunted By A Freak" is one of my favourite songs on record and live.
This was the first arab strap album that I ever listened too. For me it was the first record that i realized it was ok to sing in your in your own accent. Aiden is one of the best lyricist of the past two decades!
We were playing a gig in philiadelphia and we were at the last minute we found out we were supporting this guy. His set was amazing and we became good friends with him and when I got home I stuck on the record and was hooked. Hopefully in the next year we will be releasing a record together.
I love Deerhunter and i love Atlas Sound. This record is my favourite. Nothing ever happend is on every playlist I have made since the record came out.
I saw them play a festival in Glasgow the day before the first record came out and went into town the next day to buy it. It's one of those records that came out at the right time and its only downfall is that it spawned a million shite bands trying to copy them.
As i said before i was a big fan of arab strap, so when i heard malcolm was going to do some solo records i was intrigued. this record is the perfect mixture of miserablism and pop. malcolm is also one of the best lyricists of the decade.
We were in america in out record labels office which they share with another record company which happened to be the label that released this record and they gave us a copy. I had never heard of them before and again i got home listened and I was hooked. we were lucky enough to do a couple of gigs with them becasuse Zach was a fan of the band. i got to sing some songs in copenhagen with them which was amazing.
They are our good friends and this is a great record.
