Formed out of the demise of two New York bands of the late 90's - Jonathan Fire*Eater and The Recoys - The Walkmen released their debut Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me Is Gone in 2002 before frontman Hamilton Leithauser's primal howl found wider acclaim when the sensation 'The Rat' preceded album number two Bows & Arrows two years later. The band's fourth album You & Me found an even bigger audience, cracking the Billboard top 100 upon release in 2008.
