Spiritualized

An ever changing cast around one very-singular force, Spiritualized became the space-rocking vehicle for the work Jason Pierce after the early 90's dissolution of his first band Spacemen 3, themselves hugely influential players in the improvised genre. Following the warmly-received Lazer Guided Melodies and Pure Phase, Pierce (or J.Spaceman as he is oft referred to) hit a career-defining peak with 1997's Ladies And Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space, one of the decades finest records. Its follow-up Let It Come Down and most recently 2008's Songs In A&E - recorded after Pierce almost died from pneumonia - have ensured the come-down hasn't been too severe.
