An intriguing and underrated band, Manchester's Simian always seemed to have a little more than they let on and that came blazing through when James Ford (subsequent producer de jour) and Jas Shaw became Simian Mobile Disco in the ashes of their first incarnation. Initially, as their name suggested, a disc spinning touring duo, the pair released a number of singles on a host of imprints including France's Kitsune before releasing their debut long player Attack Decay Sustain Release for Wichita in 2007. Their second album, Temporary Pleasure, was released in 2009.
