M. Ward

After a six-year stint with the trio Rodriguez, Matt Ward went solo for the first time with Duet for Guitars #2 in 1999. His follow-up, End of Amnesia, was released on Future Farmer in 2001 and two years later he signed with Merge for the much lauded Transfiguration of Vincent. Transistor Radio (2005) and Post-War (2006) followed in quick succession, before following a collaboration with actress Zooey Deschanel on a song for the 2008 film The Go-Getter, the duo released an album of covers and Deschanel originals called Volume One under the moniker She & Him. Ward's sixth album Hold Time was released in 2009.
