Born just outside the Swedish town of Umea but settled in the capital of Stockholm, Frida Hyvonen released her debut Until Death Comes on the local Licking Fingers debut before Secretly Canadian gave it a bigger audience outside of her native country a year later. The same year she went about recording Frida Hyvönen Gives You: Music from the Dance Performance PUDEL - an experimental album of sorts, created to accompany, as it says on the tin, a dance performance. Follow up proper Silence Is Wild was released in the US in late 2008 and Europe in early '09.
