The first indie band to conquer charts and mainstream in the confused post-Britpop landscape, Glasgow art rockers Franz Ferdinand even managed to swing a Mercury Prize despite selling a shed load of copies of their 2004 self-titled debut album. You Could Have It So Much Better followed quickly, possibly too quickly, a year later but did have a lead off single - 'Do you Wanna' - to match the previous year's belting 'Take Me Out'. The foursome took their time next time round only for the rather flat Tonight to emerge, again on Domino, in early '09.
