The man responsible for the most famous log-cabin hibernation in music, Justin Vernon's 2007 debut as Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago - could have got lost amidst the backstory in the woods of Wisconsin had it not been one of the most accomplished and stirring of recent years. Deservedly given a wider release in the UK via 4AD, Vernon then conquered every stage he stepped onto and with the early 2009 release of the Blood Bank EP, showed he didn't need a log cabin to kindly some magic. Vernon announced later that year that he had teamed up with local instrumental rockists Collections of Colonies of Bees to form Volcano Choir with a full release Unmap out in September.
