A decade and almost as many years in the making, Animal Collective's deserved crossover success came courtesy of January 2009's wildly anticipated Merriweather Post Pavilion, an album that created an internet buzz like no other. By then a three-piece following Josh 'Deakin' Dibb's timeout after preceeding record Strawberry Jam - Merriweather's success built as much on Noah Lennox's landmark Person Pitch record in the same year as Panda Bear as it did on the band's previously acclaimed effors lie Sung Tongs and Feels.
