Amadou & Mariam

Blind Malian husband and wife Amadou Bagayoko and Mariam Doumbia have been playing together for over thirty years, receiving their due worldwide praise in the last few of those years. The pair's popular fortunes first turned when they worked with fellow world music luminary Manu Chao on what as to become their breakthrough album, 2005's Dimanche a Bamako. Further work with world music patron Damon Albarn on 2008's Welcome To Mali furthered their credentials. And despite both being in their 50's, Amadou & Mariam are only getting going.
